We are looking for a Technical Services Engineer (Presale) for our Deland, FL office!

 

Summary: Assists the organization’s internal and external customers regarding all technical inquiries involving product properties, product application, and performance.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Communicate directly with Architects, Specifiers, General Contractors, Installation Contractors, and Project Owners regarding implementation of Kingspan products.
  • Communicate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations departments regarding technical product and application information.
  • Perform preliminary engineering analysis of panels including structural (wind load, seismic, anchoring, deflections, etc), environmental (thermal, moisture, etc.), and other application requirements.
  • Develop/modify installation details for non-standard conditions.
  • Design and assist with product testing (in-house and laboratory) as required.
  • Support R&D with product development, testing, and certification requirements.
  • Update and maintain product specifications as necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with other Tech Services Engineers, Drafting, Field Services, and Customer Service departments as required.
  • Assist with preparation of technical articles for industry publications.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • BSCE or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Architectural and Structural drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with various building façade and fenestration components.
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards (US and Canadian codes).
  • Ability to understand and communicate building science principles.

Other Skills and Requirements:

  • A valid passport and ability to travel.
  • Be self-motivated and capable of handling multiple projects.
  • Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
