Summary: The Testing and Certification Engineer provides support for product compliance with governmental requirements in the markets in which the company is present; as well as with those by several certification agencies that underwrite the company’s product performance.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Supports Kingspan product compliance strategy.
  • Follows processes and procedures that ensure products comply with applicable regulatory standards both in Canada and the US.
  • Assist in collaboration with technical services, sales, marketing, quality, and manufacturing teams for product certification and associated activities.
  • Assists in the development of new products and product enhancements to comply with applicable standards.
  • Assists in the planning, scheduling, and assembly for product testing according to compliance regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the process for maintaining compliance with applicable standards and regulations for commercially available products.
  • Ensure that compliance-related documentation is properly archived and maintained.
  • Communicate compliance-related risks, support formal risk assessments, and aids with related mitigation activities.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related technical field.
  • Zero to three years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Zero to three years of experience in product compliance experience in the construction industry.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Must be proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project preferred.

 Other Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (usually 8 days a month).
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate technical standards
